<p>Tot Alex barnett povesteste despre o discutie legata de asta in emisiunea lui Charlie Rose</p>
<p>(Nota: Charlie Rose este gazda unui talk show ce trateaza in general probleme serioase din societate si care e produs si distribuit de PBS, reteaua americana de televiziuni publice. Televiziunea publica in america e ruda saraca a retelelor comerciale. De asta probabil ca auzim foarte rar de Thirteen sau WGBH Boston, iar majoritatea programelor sunt produse - in parteneriat cu - de BBC)</p>

Rose asks: &#8220;<em>Why is it that Yahoo! can&#8217;t recruit the people at Google - through some extraordinary salary offers - that would let Yahoo! replicate what Google has</em>?&#8221;</p>
<p>Anderson&#8217;s answer (paraphrased): &#8220;<em>There is a basic philosophical difference between Google and Yahoo! Google is a Machine company. Google believes that data, machines and the Algorithms will drive the company&#8217;s growth. Yahoo! is a people company - it believes content created by people and the conections made between them with its drive growth</em>.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;<em>And what about Microsoft?</em>&#8220;, Rose asks. Anderson responds (again, paraphrasing) - <em>&#8220;Microsoft is a pre-web software company that philosophically wants to be somewhere in between Google and Yahoo!&#8221;</em> An oversimplified analysis, surely (hey, it&#8217;s a TV interview answer), but I think the Anderson&#8217;s conclusion is pretty accurate at its heart.</p></blockquote>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Am tacut o vreme, si asta nu neaparat pentru ca am intrat ca si Romania in vacanta de 1 Mai. Am petrecut sarbatorile de Pasti la Oxford si a fost foarte frumos. Vremea a fost foarte buna, asa incat am lancezit pe paturi in parcuri si am mobilizat gratarul cu carnati cu usturoi verde, coaste olimpice, aripi aviare, si alte de astea.</p>
<p>Sebastian s-a simtit excelent, a alergat toate zilele si a jucat golf in curte la Catalin. Dupa ce ne-am intors acasa, au reinceput ploile.</p>
<p>Alte chestiuni relativ interesante de pe aici:</p>
<ul>
<li>Am vazut un prim episod dintr-o serie de documentare BBC/Open University intitulate &#8220;Immigrant Life&#8221;. Daca ar fi fost facute in Ro probabil ar fi insemnat un lung sir de metafore, incurajari, laudarosenii, etc. Asa a fost foarte interesant, mai ales ca unul dintre subiecti era un roman sofer de taxi in Plymouth</li>
<li>Alta serie de documentare pe BBC e acum &#8220;Chinese School&#8221;. Imagini familiare cu olimpiade, Daciada chineza, cravate, defilare si alegeri de comandat de grupa si de detasament.</li>
<li>In alt domeniu, de pe E-media Tidbits am aflat cum e cu interactivitatea in ziarele europene:</li>
